SAM PuttLab

The SAM Puttlab uses ultrasound to analyse and measure up to 28 different parameters in the putting stroke. It helps to identify and diagnose exactly what is happenning during the putting stroke. Usually a player will hit batches of between 5 and 10 putts and then the program analyses the data and provides reports on various elements of the stroke including aiming at address, alignment of the face at impact, the stroke direction, the face rotation and the face relationship to the path. The SAM Puttlab system can also be used in training mode and it is also usually benefical to use training aids such as the Perfectstroke Putting Aid, the Perfectstroke Pro, the various putting mirrors manufactured by Perfectstroke as well as items such as the Laser T. For instance if a player has a problem with stroke path then using the suspended plane mechanism of the Perfectstroke will help to get the person to improve their stroke direction. If there are issues with face alignment at address then using the Perfectstroke aid would also help as well as using something like a string line or laser alignment device. Putterface control and face in relation to path can also be practiced using the Perfectstroke Putting Aid, the SAM system and the Laser T.
All levels of playing ability can benefit from an assessment using the SAM system and usually the cost for an assessment and to do some training is the cost of a one hour lesson.
The participant will recieve advice on the best training methods for improvement for them individually and when to schedule the next SAM session. The system can also interface with video and simultaneously record the putts on the SAM as well as on video. The 2010 version also has comprehensive putter fitting and putter selection software which helps a player to choose exactly the right specifications in putter design and set up to suit them.
The SAM system works very effectively in a school or clinic type of situation where a number of players can be tested over a short period of time when utilising the SAM Putt Station.
